Lenovo is a brand that’s probably mostly known for it’s personal and business computer lines. Many don’t realize that Lenovo is also who’s behind Motorola’s Moto mobile line, as they acquired and merged the smartphone divisions back in 2015. Just last week, they announced their newest and most powerful phone yet, the Z5 Pro GT. This is not just a big step for Lenovo, but for smartphones in general.
The Z5 Pro GT comes packed with an industry-leading 12GB of RAM. If that isn’t good enough for you, it also houses Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. Oh and did I mention that the Z5 Pro GT is also a full-screen slider? Well it is. We’re talking a 6.39in. 2340×1080 AMOLED display that also has dual nano SIM slots, 512GB internal storage, 3350mAh battery, 24 & 16 megapixel dual rear cameras, 16 & 8 megapixel front-facing cameras, and a USB-C dongle for 3.5mm headphone jack.
That is quite the beast of a phone. Pre-orders won’t be available until January 15th next year, with the official launch date on January 24th. More importantly though, you might not be able to get your hands on it…unless you’re in China. The Z5 Pro GT currently doesn’t support US LTE networks, and there hasn’t been anything stated on plans for it to come stateside, which is sad. One can only hope that Lenovo decides to eventually bring it to the US. For now though, it will be available in China for a cool 4398 yuan or about $640 US dollars.
