Over the weekend, Capcom Cup featured many top players as they compete in the final showdown for the Capcom Pro Tour season. During the event, Street Fighter Executive Producer Yoshinori Ono announced a new World Warrior that will be joining Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. Kage, who looks just like Evil Ryu, is now playable.
Kage is the spirit of Satsui no Hado that came from humanity’s obsession with power. It has once taken over Ryu’s body, turning the Japanese fighter into Evil Ryu. In the game’s story, Ryu was able to snap out of becoming evil when he was facing against Necalli. That’s not stopping the angry spirit since he is now back, and this time it doesn’t need Ryu’s body. Satsui no Hado has figured out how to become a physical form without a human body known as Kage.
Kage is available today on the PlayStation 4 and Steam for MSRP $5.99. You can also get him if you have 100,000 Fight Money.
In addition, there is a new update that will balance out the characters, and F.A.N.G, Vega, Chun-Li, Abigail, and M. Bison have new moves for players to check out.
Capcom has also announced that the Capcom Pro Tour will be back in 2019, with the first premier event to take place on March 15, 2019, at Final Round. Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be back as the official game for the new season.
Capcom has made sure to make Street Fighter V last long. Players can play against other online fighters, no matter what copy of Street Fighter V they have. If you own the original Street Fighter V copy, it’ll update to the latest version. Those who purchased Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be able to play against those who have purchased Street Fighter V on launch day.
