Marvel Studios setting itself up for a major week to kick off December. While there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, the big rumor is that we’re finally going to see the Avengers 4 trailer on Wednesday. At the same time, people are speculating that we’ll be seeing that new trailer on Good Morning America. To be honest, it’s not a total shock. After all, Disney does love releasing trailers during Good Morning America.
Another thing that Disney loves to do is release trailers on Monday Night Football. Past trailers include The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. However, this is the first time that we’re seeing Marvel Studios release a trailer on MNF. That trailer is for none other than Captain Marvel. So without further ado, check out the new Captain Marvel trailer below!
The first teaser for Captain Marvel saw Carol Danvers forget who she is as she crashes into a Blockbuster Video store. What we also got is a bunch of quick shots of the film’s many side characters including a shot of the Skrulls. It’s essentially the definition of a teaser trailer. So it’s finally good to see a Captain Marvel trailer with some meat on it. It’s also good to see the introduction of the Kree/Skrulls war in the film as well.
Captain Marvel sidesteps the traditional origin-story template, and when it begins, Carol already has her powers. She’s left her earthly life behind to join an elite Kree military team called Starforce, led by Jude Law’s enigmatic commander. But before long, Carol finds herself back on Earth with new questions about her past. And she’s got a formidable enemy in the form of the Skrulls — the notorious Marvel baddies made all the more dangerous by their shape-shifting abilities. Ben Mendelsohn plays their leader Talos, who spearheads a Skrull invasion of Earth.
Captain Marvel blasts its way into theaters on March 8, 2019.
