The awards season is here, and The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society (LAOFCS) has announced today the nominations for its 2nd Annual Awards Ceremony, which will take place on January 9, 2019, at the Taglyan Complex in Los Angeles. The films with the most nominations are The Favourite and Marvel’s Black Panther with ten nominations each. A Star is Born has nine, BlackKkKlansman has eight, indie film Eighth Grade has six, and If Beale Street Could Talk has five.
“In a year where diversity and representation have been at the forefront of so many conversations, I believe that the LAOFCS nominations this year proves how much representation truly matters. There have been a lot of great films this year that have tackled important issues, so I am thrilled to see that reflected in our nominations,” said LAOFCS’ Scott Menzel.
The Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society members have nominated over fifty films that range from indie to big-budget films.
