Red Dead Redemption 2 has been out since October 26th, but there has been no news on the exact date for Red Dead Online beta… until now. The moment is almost here, and players will get to play the multiplayer mode this week. Depending on what version of Red Dead Redemption 2 you got or when you have played the game, you’ll be assigned different dates.
Everyone will get to play Red Dead Online beta on Friday if they own a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2. The option for the online game will be located on the top right side of the menu screen.
If you have the Ultimate Edition, you’ll get to play it starting tomorrow, Tuesday, on November 27th at 5:30 am PT / 8:30 am EST. If you played Red Dead Redemption 2 on October 26th according to Rockstar data, you’ll get access on Wednesday, November 28th at 5:30 am PT. If you’ve played the game between October 26th and October 29th according to Rockstar data, you’ll get to play on Thursday, November 29th. And Friday, November 30th is open to the rest of the Red Dead Redemption 2 owners.
At launch, there can be up to 32 players at a time for a Red Dead Online instance, and players can form up to 8 players in a posse. You can play by yourself or with your friends in co-op missions. Familiar activities will be back including hunting, fishing, and creating a camp, and they can travel to familiar locations in the map that was featured in Red Dead Redemption 2.
And like GTA Online, players can attack other players and posses. The lasso can also be used, so get ready for some kidnappings! Players can compete in different PvP modes, so expect something like shooting and horse racing.
Events will be happening about every 30 minutes, and these will be familiar to those who participated in GTA Online’s events.
