Marvel’s Runaways season 2 trailer shows off new superheroes, evolved powers, and more parental drama

The super-powered teens are back and are tougher than ever.

Hulu hit series, Marvel’s Runaways, from executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, return for their sophomore season on December 21st. Hulu has released the trailer today.

We left last season with the super-teens discovering their parents being supervillains and ran away from home. Now, they must rely on each other and their newfound powers to fight against whatever plans Pride has. Based on the trailer, we are going to see the parents and their kids go head to head. We’re also seeing some new additions to the group, including newcomer Jan Luis Castellanos, who is set to play Topher, a vampire who is hiding out in an abandoned hostel, which becomes the Runaways new hideout.

Of course, we see the return of Old Lace; Karolina learning more about her cosmic background; the love story between Karolina and Nico; and, potential new teens joining the crew; and, Nico learning more about the power of dark magic. In the end of the trailer, we see Nico using dark magic with dark patches growing around her eyes, similar to the villains in Doctor Strange. Remember, Tina was a master in the Mystic Arts. So, we’ll see if there will be that link to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Check out the trailer below:

Marvel’s Runaways Official Synopsis:

Every teenager thinks their parents are evil. But what if they really were? When six L.A. teens stumble onto a terrible secret, they realize their parents have been lying to them all their lives. But what are their parents after? And why? While the kids investigate, the adults start to wonder if their kids are hiding secrets of their own. The parents close in on the truth just as the kids uncover a plan with devastating consequences. Now, this unlikely crew of teenagers must band together to stop their parents before it’s too late.

Marvel’s Runaways returns on December 21st on Hulu.
