Aviron Pictures has given ComingSoon an exclusive clip from their drama A Private War, the true story of a journalist killed during the siege of Horns in Syria. Check out the A Private War clip featuring stars Rosamund Pike and Stanely Tucci in the player below!

A Private War is the story of American journalist Marie Colvin, who covered wars and conflicts for the British paper The Sunday Times from 1985 until her death in 2012. She lost the sight in her left eye in 2001 in Sri Lanka. She died during a rocket attack while covering the siege of Homs in Syria. Colvin won a number of awards for her journalism, including Journalist of the Year in 2000 from the Foreign Press Association, Courage in Journalism from the International Women’s Media Foundation, and Foreign Reporter of the Year from the British Press Awards three times.

In addition to Pike (Gone Girl), the film stars Jamie Dornan (Fifty Shades of Grey), Tom Hollander (The Night Manager), Corey Johnson (Megan Leavey) and Stanley Tucci (Beauty and the Beast).

The film is directed by Matthew Heineman (Cartel Land) and produced by Thunder Road Pictures’ Basil Iwanyk (Sicario) and Kamala Films’ Marissa McMahon. Savvy Media Holdings’ Matthew George (Wind River) as well as Denver & Delilah Films are also serving as producers. Executive producers are Erica Lee, Jonathan Fuhrman and Ashley Schlaifer.
