Deadline is reporting that Samuel L. Jackson, Anthony Mackie, Nicholas Hoult and Nia Long have signed on to star in George Nolfi’s The Banker, a fact based drama written by Nolfi and Niceole Levy.

According to the trade, The Banker is a drama based on the true story of two African American entrepreneurs, Bernard Garrett (Mackie) and Joe Morris (Jackson), who during the 1950’s tried to circumvent the racial limitations of the era and take on the establishment by recruiting a working class white man, Matt Steiner (Hoult) and training him to pose as the head of their business empire while they posed as a janitor and a chauffeur. Bernard’s wife Eunice (Nia Long), plays a key role in setting up the enterprise. Garrett and Morris become two of the wealthiest and most successful real estate owners in the country with Steiner as their front man, but their success brings about unforeseen risk of exposure that threatens everything.

Jackson and Mackie reunite for the film after appearing in Marvel’s Captain America: Winter Soldier and Avengers: Age of Ultron together.

Jackson found success this summer when he returned to voice Frozone in Incredibles 2 for director Brad Bird and can also be seen in M. Night Shyamalan’s anticipated Glass on January 18, 2019.

Mackie was last seen in Avengers: Infinity War, but co-stars in the drama The Hate U Give, set to hit theaters on October 19.

Hoult likewise has enjoyed success in the Marvel universe, albeit in the X-Men series as Hank McCoy, aka Beast. He will reprise the role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix on June 7, 2019. Hoult has also wrapped production on the biopic Tolkien in which he plays Lord of the Rings author J.R.R. Tolkien.

Long has spent a majority of her career on the small screen in notable roles on NCIS: Los Angeles, Empire, and Dear White People.

Nolfi made his directorial debut with 2011’s The Adjustment Bureau starring Matt Damon and Emily Blunt. His last film, Birth of the Dragon, a modern take on the classic Bruce Lee films, released in 2016.
