Bee and Puppycat, an animated web series that debuted in 2013 and ran for eleven episodes, hasn’t seen anything new since 2016. That’s about to change since online streaming service VRV has announced that it will stream new episodes exclusively in 2019.
Bee and Puppycat: Lazy in Space is a brand new adventure for these beloved characters. The new story will take Bee and Puppycat to explore an expanded universe and deal with problems that are big, small, weird, dangerous, and everything in between, all while trying to pay their rent in time.
The new story will air only on VRV’s Cartoon Hangover channel. It will feature longer, half-hour episodes, as well as a longer, extended season. Frederator studios (Castlevania, Adventure Time) will be co-producing the show with OLM, a Tokyo-based animation and film studio whose previous work includes the “Pokemon” animated franchise. OLM will also have support from their Los Angeles subsidiary, Sprite Animation. Bee and PuppyCat creator Natasha Allegri will be serving as the showrunner.
Cartoon Hangover is a home for independent cartoons with an odd quality to them. Currently, their shows include Bravest Warriors, Cartoon Conspiracy, GO! Cartoons, FilmCow, and (not) Hero.
