NBC to air holiday music special A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy
NBC has announced the upcoming holiday music special A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy, featuring musician and actor John Legend and his wife, TV host and author Chrissy Teigen. The hour-long special will feature the celebrity power couple along with a host of friends and other noteworthy personalities, though the details are currently being kept under wraps.
“What John has accomplished over his career is simply remarkable and we’re thrilled to have both he and Chrissy host our holiday special. It will be a truly memorable telecast filled with wonderful performances that will have something for everyone,” said Doug Vaughan the Executive Vice President of Special Programs at NBC.
The special will feature Legend performing songs from his upcoming Christmas album, “A Legendary Christmas,” which drops on Oct. 26. Legend recently won an Emmy Award for NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, which cemented his highly exclusive EGOT status, meaning he’s one of only a few performers to win an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony. The special will be produced by Universal Television, Done + Dusted and Friends at Work.
This spring, Legend will also serve as a coach on the four-time Emmy-winning musical competition series The Voice.
A Legendary Christmas with John and Chrissy will air Wednesday, Nov. 28 on NBC.
