Disenchantment Season 1 Episode 4 Recap
In the previous episode of Netflix‘s Disenchantment, Bean murdered an exorcist and accidentally unleashed hordes of demons upon the earth. What will happen next? Let’s find out together as we jump into Disenchantment season 1 episode 4, ‘Castle Party Massacre’!
Water Quality is Very Important
Bean brought a gentleman home from her night out on the town. He quickly deduced her identity as princess Bean and refused to entertain her for the night, out of fear of King Zog. The man ran away and Bean lamented the fact that no men want to be with her because of her father’s reputation. The next day, Zog drank a glass of water that had been infected, due to there being a dead horse lying in the water fountain. Subsequently, Zog fell ill due to the condition of the water and was taken to a local spa to recover. Zog put Odval in charge of the castle until he returned.
Party Time!
Bean, Luci, and Elfo decided to throw a party at the castle while Zog was away. Bean invited all of the people in town to come to her party. Meanwhile, at the spa, Zog was revealed to be being tortured by a fake spa attendant, named Chazz.
At the party, Bean attempted to dance with many men, but all refused, as she still could not escape her father’s reputation. Crestfallen, Bean moped alone by the snack table. Elfo decided to make a play for Bean’s affections on Luci’s advice. Unfortunately, he was interrupted by a group of vikings who arrived at the party.
Takeover?
The vikings were getting along very well with the other party-goers. Bean was attracted to one particular viking, the leader of the group, due to his lack of fear of kingly authority. Elfo saw this occurring and went to tell Odval about the party, knowingthat they would put an immediate stop to it. Odval refused to help at this time.
Elfo returned to the party and interrupted Bean’s encounter with the viking before anything could actually happen. This upset Bean greatly and she stormed out. Elfo quickly realized the error of his ways and chased after Bean, the two re-affirmed their friendship and headed downstairs to the throne room. They found that the vikings had killed all of the party-goers. Bean, Elfo, and Luci were seized and Dreamland was claimed as the property of the vikings.
Clean-up Duty
Zog had been cured of his ailment, as the torture was actually his treatment. Zog promptly left the spa, which prompted a message from the town newsboy that the king was returning. Bean pretended to turn to the viking’s side and convinced them that Dreamland has the Elixir of Life. She tricked the vikings into drinking the poisoned water and managed to defeat all of the vikings, freeing Dreamland.
Bean, Elfo, and Luci convinced cleaned up the castle to look perfect for Zog’s return. Zog returned, inspected the castle and found everything to be inorder. Bean and Elfo watched the sunrise together as Zog opened the flue in the fireplace to light a fire and found all of the dead party-goers bodies stuffed inside.
