August 2018 free games for PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold
Sony and Microsoft have both announced the slate of August 2018 free games that will be available to subscribing PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold members.
PlayStation Plus members will receive the revenge game Mafia III and horror game Dead by Daylight for the PlayStation 4. For the PlayStation 3, members will receive the RPG Bound by Flame as well as the shooter Serious Sam 3 BFE. For the PS Vita, players will receive the bloody action game Draw Slasher and the strategy game Space Hulk.
Additionally, PlayStation is offering a bonus PlayStation VR game for PS Plus members this month. From August 7 through October 2, members can down Here They Lie free for their PS VR system. Members can also get Knowledge is Power from August 7 through November 6. You can subscribe to PlayStation Plus via this link.
Xbox Live Gold members will receive four new free games — two on Xbox One and two on Xbox 360 — as part of the Games with Gold program. Members can download racer Forza Horizon 2 for free during the month of August, with the online war game For Honor Standard Edition available from August 16 to September 15. On Xbox 360 (with Xbox One backward compatibility), players get Dead Space 3 free from August 1 to August 15th, and Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two from August 16th to August 31st.
