FX bringing FXhibition back to San Diego Comic-Con

SDCC FXhibition 2018

FX is bringing back FXhibition to the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel lawn. The cable network will bring some of its hottest shows to this year’s FXhibition. Not to mention, FXhibition will incorporate something called “Near Field Communication (NFC)” technology for the first time ever. Thus, expect to see some innovative installations for Legion, American Horror Story, Mayans M.C., and Archer.

FX will be bringing “The Legion Chamber” from Los Angeles to San Diego. The audiovisual experience will put you inside the “hypnotic digital realm of David Haller.”

In addition, American Horror Story will be returning to FXhibition with the “American Horror Story Eccentricities Gallery.” This gallery will feature a collection of art and oddities inspired by the hit horror show. Augmented Reality will aid the experience as AR will reveal secrets behind the latest season of AHS.

Debuting at Comic-Con is the Sons of Anarchy spin-off, Mayans M.C. “Mayans M.C. Deconstructed Bike Zone” is being described as the “ultimate photo of for biker fans.” Also, there will be a gallery featuring artists’ take on the new series.

Archer will also return with “Archer Sound Boxes.” This experience will put you inside the heads of their favorite Archer characters. Once inside, you can take a picture of yourself inside the suspended sound boxes adorned with character art. Not to mention, each sound box will contain classic sound bites from the show.

Also returning is the cult comedy show It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The gang’s bar, Paddy’s Irish Pub, will make its way from Philadelphia to San Diego. Paddy’s Irish Pub will feature playful camp-themed elements including a photo op, sunscreen and water stations.

Finally, there’s “FX 3D Me.” With this experience, you’ll get to step into a 360-degree scanner which captures your picture from all angles. In the end, you’ll be put in a digital art piece from your favorite show. In addition, you have a chance to get a physical figurine of yourself if you participate.

If you want to participate at this year’s FXhibition, all you have to do is go to FXSDCC.com and register there. You can use NFC on-site to record each moment of their personalized journey through the space. At the end, you can find your journey in a virtual online gallery.

FXhibition will be open to the public as follows:

  • Thursday July 19th, 12pm – 6pm
  • Friday July 20th, 10am – 6pm
  • Saturday July 21st, 10am – 6pm
