Facebook Watch series ‘Sacred Lies’ premieres tomorrow

Sacred Lies Facebook Watch

Facebook is joining Netflix, Hulu and Amazon with its own original programming for Facebook Watch. The social media giant’s new drama series, Sacred Lies, will be premiering tomorrow, Friday, July 27th at 9pm ET/6pm PT. It is executive produced Raelle Tucker (True Blood, The Returned, Jessica Jones) and produced by Blumhouse Television.

The 10-episode series is based on the classic Grimm Brothers tale The Handless Maiden and Stephanie Oakes’ novel The Sacred Lies of Minnow Bly. The drama follows a handless teen who flees from a cult and is then put in juvenile detention. She is suspected of knowing the killer of her cult leader.

The series stars Elena Kampouris (My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, Before I Fall, Men, Women & Children) as Minnow Bly, Kevin Carroll (Being John Malkovich, The Object of My Affection) as Dr. Wilson, Kiana Madeira (Taken, Dark Matter) as Angel, Ryan Robbins (iRobot, Sanctuary) as Samuel Bly and Toby Huss (King of the Hill, Halt and Catch Fire) as The Prophet.

The first three episodes will premiere tomorrow, with new episodes being released every Friday at 6pm PT/9pm ET on the Sacred Lies Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/sacredliesshow/

The show is also executive produced by Scott Winant (True Blood, Good Girls Revolt, Californication), who directs four episodes. Jason Blum, Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold from Blumhouse Television are also executive producers.

To help promote the series, there was a Sacred Lies activation at The Experience at Petco Park during San Diego Comic-Con. The event was open to Comic-Con and non-Comic-Con badge holders, and those who scheduled an appointment had the chance to experience Sacred Lies: Escape Room. The experience had friends and strangers coming together to solve puzzles as they move from room to room. The environment has the group lost in the woods, and throughout the journey, the small team slowly became indoctrinated into the cult. Praise Charlie!

It was a fun experience that tested your teamwork and problem-solving skills.
