The Serenity trailer will raise your hackles
IM Global and Aviron Pictures released the first trailer for the mysterious and tension-filled Serenity. Throughout the course of the trailer, you will feel your hackles rise as you watch Baker struggle with a proposition he’s been given. Check it out in the player below!
From the creative mind of Oscar nominee Steven Knight comes a daringly original, sexy, stylized thriller. Baker Dill (Academy Award winner Matthew McConaughey) is a fishing boat captain leading tours off a tranquil, tropical enclave called Plymouth Island. His quiet life is shattered, however, when his ex-wife Karen (Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway) tracks him down with a desperate plea for help. She begs Dill to save her – and their young son – from her new, violent husband (Jason Clarke) by taking him out to sea on a fishing excursion, only to throw him to the sharks and leave him for dead. Karen’s appearance thrusts Dill back into a life he’d tried to forget, and as he struggles between right and wrong, his world is plunged into a new reality that may not be all that it seems.
Serenity stars Matthew McConaughey (Interstellar, Mud), Anne Hathaway (Ocean’s 8, Interstellar), Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blood Diamond), Jeremy Strong (Detroit, The Big Short), and Diane Lane (Trumbo, Under the Tuscan Sun, Unfaithful).
Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes), Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy, Blood Diamond), and Jeremy Strong (The Big Short, upcoming Detroit) also star in the film.
Steven Knight (Locke, Dirty Pretty Things) is directing the film which is bring produced by Guy Heeley (Locke) and Academy Award winner Greg Shapiro (The Hurt Locker, Zero Dark Thirty).
Serenity will be released in theaters on October 19.
