Loeb confirms Iron Fist season 2 for 2018, no more plans for Defenders
Marvel TV Executive VP Jeff Loeb revealed yesterday during a Reddit AMA session that Marvel’s Iron Fist will be returning later this year. When asked by a fan whether or not Iron Fist would finally get his suit, Loeb responded, “You’ll be very happy with Season 2 coming this year!”
With Season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage premiering later this month, we can assume that Marvel’s Iron Fist will debut its second season later this fall before the year ends. Marvel’s Iron Fist will again star Finn Jones as the titular hero, Danny Rand. The cast for the series will also include the return of Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Simone Missick as Misty Knight, Tom Pelphrey as Ward Meachum, Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum), and Sacha Dhawan as Danny’s childhood friend Davos.
In addition, the comic scribe turned TV executive producer revealed that there are no plans for a second season of Marvel’s The Defenders.
“Not in the plans right now, but you never know….We loved Defenders and so did our fans. We’ll see about doing it again — as you can guess it messes with the schedules on other shows – so do you want more Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones or another Defenders?”
Marvel’s Defenders premiered last summer and brought the four Netflix heroes together for the first time.
