Evan Rachel Wood, Gina Rodriguez to star in heist film

Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water), and Debra Winger (The Ranch) will be starring in a currently-untitled heist film from indie filmmaker Miranda July (Me and You and Everyone We Know), The Hollywood Reporter says.

The script centers on a woman named Old Dolio whose life is turned upside down when her parents, amateur con artists, invite an outsider to join their biggest heist yet. Wood plays Old Dolio, while Jenkins and Winger will star as the shady parents who are confronted by the mistakes of their poor parenting. Rodriguez will play the woman who learns the family’s secrets and is brought into the fold.

The project is the most recent collaboration from Annapurna Pictures and Brad Pitt’s Plan B Entertainment. Production is slated to begin in May, and Youree Henley (The Beguiled) will produce.

Wood can be seen in the Golden Globe-nominated and Emmy Award-winning HBO series Westworld, which will premiere its second season on April 22. Golden Globe-winner Rodriguez’s hit series, Jane the Virgin, is currently airing its fourth season Friday nights on The CW. Jenkins was recently nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in Guillermo del Toro’s Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water, and Winger has been nominated for several Oscars for her leading performances in iconic films such as Terms of Endearment and An Officer and a Gentleman. You can also catch her on the Netflix original series The Ranch, starring alongside Ashton Kutcher and Sam Elliott.
