Elisabeth Shue, Rob Morgan Join Tom Hank’s Greyhound

Elisabeth Shue and Rob Morgan have joined Tom Hanks in the cast of the WWII drama Greyhound

Elisabeth Shue (Annihilation) and Rob Morgan (Mudbound) have joined the cast of the upcoming Tom Hanks (Cast Away) film Greyhound, according to Deadline. The film was written by Hanks and is set to be directed by Aaron Schneider (Get Low). Greyhound will star Hanks and is a WWII drama about a Naval commander named Ernest Krause who is put in charge of a new ship, the Greyhound. He crosses the Atlantic while pursued by Nazi U-boats. Krause will be played by Hanks and Stephen Graham (The Irishman) has already been cast. Hanks adapted the script from the C.S. Forester novel “The Good Shepherd.”

Greyhound will shoot in Baton Rouge on the USS Kidd, named after Rear Admiral Isaac Kidd, the first Navy Admiral to be killed in action during Pearl Harbor. Sony has the rights to Greyhound and the film will be produced by Hanks and his production company Playtone with partner Gary Goetzman. Executive producing are FilmNation Entertainment’s Aaron Ryder, Playtone’s Steven Shareshian and David Coatsworth. Sony will finance with Bron Creative, Sycamore Pictures and Zhengfu Pictures.

Elisabeth Shue has been seen in Battle of the Sexes and recently with Natalie Portman and Oscar Isaac in Annihilation. She won an Academy Award for Leaving Las Vegas and appears in the new version of Death Wish with Bruce Willis. Rob Morgan was seen in the Academy Award-nominated Mudbound as Hap Jackson and will next be seen in Cut Throat City.
