Marvel Studios makes it look easy. Sure, they plan these things out in advance and make strategic moves for how they’ll approach building their world and their films, but this one is just unfair. Just two months and two weeks after destroying the box office with Black Panther, they’re bringing the character back for an integral role in their biggest film yet, Avengers: Infinity War. Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa is not the only one from the film that will appear either, he’s bringing all of your favorites from Wakanda to help in the fight.

“You have a world problem with Thanos, a problem that affects everyone in the world,” Boseman tells us on the set of the film, conducting the entire interview in his Wakandan accent. “So Wakanda is on the world stage and we’re obviously advanced in a way where we can help with the situation, so that is all that’s happening here.”

In the scene we observed (which you can read about by clicking here), The Avengers arrive in Wakanda for a few reasons: The Vision desperately needs help with his injuries, and they’re hoping to make their last stand against the Mad Titan in the most technologically-capable place on the planet.

“You definitely see where some of the gap is,” he says about why Wakanda was chosen for the place of this climactic battle. “You see where the gap is and what some things we’re able to do that they’re not able to do…”

When Captain America’s team is preparing to arrive in the country, there is a feeling of uneasiness in the air. T’Challa’s friends and advisers ask him: Should we let them in? Are you sure about this? But the hero has put his differences with them from Civil War aside, he sees the big picture. Once The Avengers are present, there’s going to be even more characters making landfall for the party, folks like a talking raccoon named Rocket and a gloomy adolescent tree named Groot.

“You know, that is a good question,” Boseman says when asked about balancing the tones of the different characters together. “Seriously, because that is the difficulty in making a movie like this, you have to see the flavor of each one of them. So, I think what is good is that in this situation, you’re seeing them in my world. They’re in my wold, so it’s interesting to have them enter our space, which is not something that happens all of the time. I think it’s important for us to give the flavor of Wakanda, and they’re really adjusting to our space, so that will be part of the fun of the movie.”

And about the Guardians of the Galaxy specifically entering his kingdom? Boseman kind of sighs to choose his words carefully.

“Obviously there is a clash, all of that is conflict but it’s not conflict between us necessarily, but it is an emotional, psychological, social conflict.”

Once the band gets together, there’s one thing in their sights: Thanos. Boseman says there’s not much of a personal vendetta between Black Panther and the Mad Titan but that his presence is still enough to make for the biggest team up on the big screen. Thanos will have his hands full, because Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are getting an upgrade in Wakanda.

Avengers: Infinity War arrives in theaters on April 27.
