“Are you ready to learn the way of the fist?”
It’s been over 30 years since we’ve heard the wise teachings of Mr. Miyagi, or seen the kick heard around the world. The 1984 classic, The Karate Kid, has become a staple in most ’80s film collections, as it is epitomizes the greatness of the neon era. Of course, we don’t mention the 2010 fiasco of a remake that our beloved Jackie Chan had to endure. But there have been rumblings of a project that has been underway to create something special. Something unique. Something…nostalgic. Today, we finally get a glimpse of what that is.
Cobra Kai is a continuation off of the original rivalry of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, played by Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, respectively. The trailer for the series dropped this morning on their official YouTube Red channel, Cobra Kai. The series follows the crazy story these two, as “Karate Kid’s Johnny Lawrence and Daniel LaRusso aren’t the same people they were in high school— but their rivalry hasn’t changed one bit. The Karate Kid saga continues.” Check it out below!
