Netflix released the official trailer for The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale, a weekly comedy commentary series that tackles the absurdity of today’s politics, sports, pop culture, and life on the internet, distilling all of it into snappy half-hour episodes. Get a taste of the detached, disaffected, green screen-filled humor that awaits us in the player below!
Guiding us through the insanity of everyday news, watercooler talk, and social media shenanigans is (you guessed it) Joel McHale (Community, The Soup). Every comedy nerd’s favorite savagely pointed smarm-in-straight-white-human form will be hosting each episode, pointing and laughing at how ridiculous modern living is with a cavalcade of celebrity guests and in wild comedic sketches. Also, sharply edited video clips on so many green screens.
Kevin Hart (Welcome to the Jungle, Central Intelligence) will be gracing the show’s premiere as its very first guest. Alison Brie (GLOW, Bojack Horseman), Mike Colter (Luke Cage, The Good Wife), Paul Reiser (Stranger Things, Red Oaks), Jodie Sweetin (Full House) and Jim Rash (Community, Beyond Stranger Things) will also be making appearances.
Joel McHale, Paul Feig, KP Anderson, Jessie Henderson, Brad Stevens and Boyd Vico are the executive producers. The show is produced by Pygmy Wolf Productions, Free Period Productions and Feigco Entertainment in association with Lionsgate Television.
