Coming fresh off their Golden Globes win on Sunday, Amazon announced they will stream the complete series of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel for free starting on Friday, January 12th at 12:01 am and ending at 11:59 pm on Monday, January 15th via the Prime Video app, Fire TV, and online.
The series won two Golden Globes for Best Musical or Comedy TV Series and another for series star Rachel Brosnahan, who won for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series. The series, which has high marks from critics and fans, starts Brosnahan as Miriam “Midge” Maisel, a 1950s New York Jewish woman who is living the life as a wife, mother, successful parents, and a beautiful Upper West Side apartment. Her whole life is turned upside down and the only thing that could help her through the chaos, is her talent for stand-up comedy.
The pilot, which debuted in March last year on Amazon Video, drew in an average rating of 4.8 with 92% 5-star reviews. When the season was fully released on November 29th, the average rating increased to 4.9 with 93% 5-star reviews.
The series is created, written, and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino, the woman who brought you the Gilmore Girls. Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino serve as executive producers. The series also stars Alex Borstein, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Zegen, and Marin Hinkle. The series has been renewed for two-season order by Amazon.
