Despite the Academy snubbing the film at this year’s Oscars, Molly’s Game was one of my favorite films last year. Then again, the film does have a full house of incredible talent with Jessica Chastain and Idris Elba. Not to mention, you have Aaron Sorkin writing and directing it as well. Now, STXfilms and Universal Pictures Home Entertainment are bringing Molly’s Game home on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on April 10th. For those of you who are impatient, the film is coming out on Digital HD on March 27th.
The Blu-ray release will come with a 1080P 2.40:1 video presentation. In addition, the release will come with a 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio audio presentation. As for the special features, the release will come with one featurette. “Building an Empire” will have writer/director Aaron Sorkin and Jessica Chastain talk about Molly Bloom and her remarkable story.
So will you be getting Molly’s Game when it comes out? Be sure to sound off with your excitement in the comments section below!
Molly’s Game is based on the true story of Molly Bloom, an Olympic-class skier who ran the world’s most exclusive high-stakes poker game for a decade before becoming a target of the FBI. Her players included Hollywood royalty, sports stars, business titans and, unbeknownst to her, the Russian mob. Her only ally was criminal defense lawyer Charlie Jaffey (Idris Elba), who learned that there was much more to Molly than the tabloids led us to believe.
Molly’s Game hits Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand on April 10th. The film will be out two weeks prior on Digital HD on March 27th.
