The first Sicario gave audiences a hard look at the U.S. Government’s ongoing battle with the Mexican drug cartels. This time around in Sicario 2: Soldado, it seems more of the politics have been thrown out the window as Josh Brolin’s character tells Benicio Del Toro’s that he’s going to start a war with “everyone.”
The 2015 film also included Emily Blunt with Denis Villeneuve directing and Roger Deakins handling cinematography duties. Unfortunately, all three won’t be a part of this one. Luckily screenwriter Taylor Sheridan has returned to pen the script withStefano Sollima directing. Also joining the cast will be Matthew Modine, Catherine Keener, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Jeffrey Donovan.
Sicario 2: Soldado hits theaters on June 29, 2018.
Official Synopsis:
The drug war on the US-Mexico border has escalated as the cartels have begun trafficking terrorists across the US border. To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) re-teams with the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro).
