The Gifted has premiered on Fox on Monday, and it had a solid performance with a 1.5 adults 18-49 L+SD rating and 4.8 million viewers. If you’re a fan of Fox’s X-Men universe, then be sure to check the series since it follows a mutant brother and sister as they navigate the modern world where dangerous mutants are hunted.
It’s nice to see what the other mutants are up to since X-Men: The Last Stand. However, we’ve been getting hints of the X-Men in shows like FX’s Legion and films like Deadpool. Also, we can’t forget about the alternate timeline for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Yeah, it can get confusing.
The Gifted follows the Strucker family, and the youngest sibling, Andy, discovers he has mutant powers that can level a building. Now the government is on the hunt for the family, and they will need the aid of an underground mutant group to guide them to safety.
X-Men fans should be excited about the appearance of characters like Blink and Polaris (although I do wish she had green hair), and there are plenty of cool Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the episode, even a cameo appearance by Stan Lee.
