EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone to allow VR and non-VR players to battle together

EVE: Valkyrie - Warzone
CCP Games’ virtual reality spaceship shooter, EVE: Valkyrie, gave gamers an immersive experience while also allowing HTC Vive, Rift and PlayStation VR users to come together. Now the video game company is taking it a step further by making it cross-reality with EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone. VR and non-VR players will be able to soar in space together with the upcoming major expansion. Yes, that means gamers with TVs/monitors will get to play with those with VR headsets. Now I’m definitely interested in seeing these battles take place as a console player goes up against a keyboard and mouse PC player and a VR player.

Check out the new trailer below.

The Warzone expansion features new ships like Shadow (a Covert class ship), new weapons like Ultra abilities, and new progression system for each ship.

EVE: Valkyrie debuted on Oculus Rift in March 2016 and later on PlayStation VR and HTC Vive. Since then, CCP Games has been offering value by producing five game updates filled with new maps, modes, enhancements, and improvements.

EVE: Valkyrie – Warzone will be available on September 26, 2017. New players can buy it for $29.99, but if you’re a current owner, it’ll be a free expansion update. In addition, the new “Extraction” game mode will play like capture the flag – but in space – and it will come with two maps, Fleet and Outpost.

CCP Games’ next VR game will be Sparc, a VR sports game that will require physical skills. You can check out our hands-on impressions here.
