HBO released the teaser trailer for the second season of the most anticipated sci-fi series, Westworld. The trailer first premiered during San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday in Hall H. Fans were treated with the trailer, which is surprising since just began production this month.
The trailer begins with the mechanical self-playing piano playing Sammy Davis Jr.’s I’ve Gotta Be Me. The sheet begins to show blood and then cuts to Bernard (Jeffrey Wright) staring at a dead tiger; a man, who looks like Lawrence (Clifton Collins Jr.) hanging upside down trying to get a gun; a bunch of dead bodies inside the Delos corporation and Lee Sizemore (Simon Quarterman) standing next to Maeve (Thandie Newton) looking at the bodies; Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) and Teddy (James Marsden) hunting down people on a horse with a gun; dead bodies in Maeve’s saloon; Delos military vehicles on base with Bernard and Ashley (Luke Hemsworth) in it; and, the Man in Black aka William with blood on his face, putting on his hat. It’s short but revealed a lot of the upcoming season, since the hosts have become aware.
After the trailer premiered, the cast and creatives appeared on stage for the panel, including creators Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, Ed Harris, Luke Hemsworth, James Marsden, Thandie Newton, Jimmi Simpson, Tessa Thompson, Evan Rachel Wood, and Jeffrey Wright.
During the panel, it was announced that Neil Jackson (Sleepy Hallow) and Jonathan Tucker (American Gods) have been added to the second season cast.
Westworld returns in 2018 on HBO.
