Netflix’s anticipated second season trailer of Stranger Things premiered at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday to a full house in Hall H. Last season, the gang rescued their friend Will Byers from the Upside Down and everything seemed to be back to normal, but strange things (pun intended) are brewing for the citizens of Hawkins, Indiana.
Set to a creepy version of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, the trailer shows the boys in 1984 playing video games and living their lives. Unfortunately, Will has is still traumatized by his experience in the Upside Down and begins to see visions of the world ending and possibly the return of the demogorgons.
In the trailer, we see the kids fully enjoying 1984 with the popular video game Dragon’s Lair and embracing the hit film Ghostbusters.
Police Chief Jim Hopper returns and tries to figure out what is going on. He says in the trailer ‘Whatever is happening, it’s spreading from this place.’
The rest of the people of Hawkins show up – Joyce, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve – in the trailer. Will is beginning to fall apart. Joyce is freaking out again over Will’s condition – and he seems to be monitored by the same people who had Eleven.
In the end of the trailer, we see the return of Eleven as she comes back to Hawkins.
Stranger Things is up for 18 Emmy awards, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Supporting Actress – Drama Series (Millie Bobby Brown), and Outstanding Supporting Actor – Drama Series (David Harbour).
Stranger Things season two returns on October 27th, 2017 on Netflix.
