The 2017 Emmy Awards nominations were announced today by the Television Academy in a ceremony hosted by Television Academy Chairman and CEO Hayma Washington along with Anna Chlumsky from the HBO series Veep and Shemar Moore from CBS’ S.W.A.T.
Saturday Night Live and HBO’s Westworld lead the pack with the most nominations with 22 each, followed by Stranger Things and FEUD: Bette and Joan with 18 nominations, and Veep with 17 nominations. HBO received the most nominations with 110, followed by Netflix (91) and NBC (60). HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones was not in the running for this period due to their hiatus and return this Sunday.
The 69th Emmy Awards will air live from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, September 17 on CBS. Stephen Colbert will serve as host for the evening. The Creative Arts Emmy Awards will air on Saturday, September 16 at 8 pm on FXX.
