Fandango has released the results for Most Anticipated 2017 Summer Movies, the site’s largest moviegoer survey. It may not be surprising to see Wonder Woman coming out on top as the most anticipated summer film. It beat out the rest of the blockbuster films despite like Spider-Man: Homecoming, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Transformers: The Last Knight.
With Wonder Woman on top, the rest of the top five most anticipated 2017 summer blockbuster movies are Spider-Man: Homecoming, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, The Dark Tower and Dunkirk.
10,000 film fans have voted from April 27 to May 19, making it the largest survey filled in the company’s 17-year history. Fans had the option to pick one movie that they’re excited to see on the big screen from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Fandango also conducted a different survey, asking fans about female superheroes. Here are the results:
- 92% are excited to see a standalone female superhero movie.
- 87% wish Hollywood would make more movies featuring female superheroes.
- 73% watched the “Wonder Woman” TV show when they were kids.
So far Wonder Woman has been receiving positive reactions. Our very own Mark Pacis had great things to say about the film.
Rejoice DC fans! #WonderWoman is everything you ever wanted from a DC film.
