Spanish horror icon comes to Blu-ray in Scream Factory’s The Paul Naschy Collection
If you’re a fan of Eurohorror, specifically that lurid Golden Age of Spanish horror, then you no doubt worship Paul Naschy. Naschy (born Jacinto Molina Álvarez) was Spain’s answer to Hollywood’s horror heavyweights like Lon Chaney Jr., Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi but was probably closer to Lon Chaney Sr. in that he was very often a one man show, a force of theatrical nature.

Naschy has portrayed many classic monsters – the Wolfman, Frankenstein’s monster, Count Dracula, the Mummy and more and he was not only a terrific actor, but an accomplished writer, producer and director. He was and remains the man. This writer’s love for Naschy is strong and that’s why I’m excited that horror home video stalwarts Scream Factory have ventured off to sunny Spain to curate their new The Paul Naschy Collection Blu-ray box set, which includes five stellar films from his long and distinguished career. The set is scheduled to street June 20th.
