In a statement to TIME, Nintendo says "The number [of Joy-Con replacement or repair requests received] is not significant, and is consistent with what we’ve seen for any new hardware we have launched."
We've seen a handful of reports about Joy-Con issues, but you have to wonder how big/far-reaching the problem is. The issue is certainly out there, but according to Nintendo, it doesn't seem widespread.
