We’re well into post-production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and, as promised, James Gunn has given us a first listen into Tyler Bates’ Guardians Vol. 2 score on Facebook Live today. Yesterday, he told fans he would share a piece of the music live on social media and at around 8 AM PST, Gunn began a Live stream straight from the Abbey Road studio. The music begins at 1:35. Check it out!
As Gunn stated in the video, Abbey Road is where they scored Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and the Lord of the Rings trilogy. That’s very fitting because the piece they played sounds very “Star Wars-esque,” especially around the 2:52 mark. Gunn didn’t indicate when in the movie this is going to be played but it certainly sets up an epic and heroic tone.
What do you guys think of Tyler Bates’ piece so far? Sound off with your thoughts in the comments section below!
Set to the backdrop of ‘Awesome Mixtape #2,’ Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 continues the team’s adventures as they traverse the outer reaches of the cosmos. Old foes become new allies and fan-favorite characters from the classic comics will come to our heroes’ aid as the Marvel cinematic universe continues to expand.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5th.
