EDM and music festivals in general have definitely come a long way from what they were in the past before. Over the years, festivals like EDC, Nocturnal and Tomorrowland have exploded into these ginormous events that attract hundreds of thousands of people. The spectacle and show are just a small part of what there is to experience; obviously the music being the biggest component of all.
Fans flock to see their favorite DJ spin and get the crowd moving. For me, the entire event is one huge surreal experience that immerses you in a vibe that everyone around you happens to be on the exact same wavelength with. This year, Insomiac has a huge lineup of festivals rearing to go, with their first coming in March called Beyond Wonderland.
This will be the 8th year running for this festival, and they’ve decided to do things a bit different. For a long time, the theme has been (you guessed it) based around Alice in Wonderland. This year however, they’ve switched things up and is introducing a brand new theme called The Endless Sea. I guess the easiest way to describe it, is to compare it to being in The Little Mermaid I assume.
Theme has always been very important, as so many attendees can be seen dressed up in their rave costumes to match. And that’s not even counting all the stages, random performers, and everything in between that all follow that same theme. One cool thing I always look forward to, is seeing many nerd-themed outfits. Groups of friends dressed as Ninja Turtles, Star Wars, Avengers, etc., you name it, and someone is probably dressed up as it.
Even though it’s a few months out, I can’t wait to see the sights and sounds of this year’s event. And if you’re wondering, Beyond Wonderland will be hitting the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino , CA on March 24, 25. Tickets are still available, and you can get all the info at the Beyond Wonderland Official site.
And if you’re wondering who will be performing, check out the teaser announcement trailer as well as the full official lineup below. Hopefully we’ll see you there!
