It was devasting news to hear beloved horror drama Salem was not to be renewed for a fourth season on WGN America. On its third season, the series has stepped up the horror genre on television with its bloody scenes and graphic and dark imagery of witches. This season has proven many that Salem has strong writing and characters to keep it going for another season.
Salem fans, also known as Heathens, have come together to create a petition to ask for the fourth season of Salem and present the petition to Netflix if WGN America declines.
The petition reads “The Initial goal is to get SalemWGN renewed for a 4th season, whether that be, WGNAmerica reconsiders the show for a 4th season or We Campaign for Netflix to Renew and broadcast the 4th season.”
The petition started a week ago and is close to 1,000 signatures. Tim Heritage, the fan who started the petition, encourages everyone to spread the word and share the petition.
Many fans have expressed their sadness for the cancellation of their beloved show on social media, including myself.

Inspired by the 17th century Salem witch trials, Salem tells the twisted story of Mary Sibley, a powerful witch, who is tasked to bring hell back on Earth. With the return of her lost love, John Alden, problems begin to unravel as she decides between her duty and her true love. As the seasons unfolded, Mary’s son Little John was destined to be the shell for the Dark Lord to take over and succeeded in that. This season has the Dark Lord running the show with his trusted brother, The Sentinel, by his side with only Mary Sibley being the only one to defeat them.
Salem airs on Wednesdays at 9 pm on WGN America.
