Square Enix has revealed that Final Fantasy XV has reached 5 million in digital copies sold/physical copies shipped worldwide. (No details on the actual ratio of shipped versus digital sales.) This was all in one day and marks the largest launch day for the franchise. The game also has a record for the most first-day Japanese digital sales.
Square Enix has been pushing the Final Fantasy XV brand hard by producing the Kingsglaive CG movie and the Brotherhood animated shorts. (Which is recommended if you want to get a better understanding of the characters and their motivations.) If you want to go even further, there’s even a written prologue with scripted dialogue, and you can check it out here.
The game has been receiving mainly positive reviews; however, that’s not stopping some sites from complaining about how the main characters aren’t wearing seatbelts and why the plot is a mess.
Come back soon as Nerd Reactor will have a review up.
