The Pokkén Tournament scene has been relatively quiet in North America. In Japan, however, the arcade version has been seeing plenty of updates including new playable Pokémon. A few months back Bandai Namco Entertainment added Shadow Mewtwo, Garchomp and BraixenShadow to the roster, three characters that were originally exclusive to the Wii U port.
The update also added Darkrai to the mix, making him the first exclusive arcade character.
In a recent NicoNico stream, it was revealed that Scizor (known as Hassam in Japan) is the latest character to be added to Pokkén Tournament roster. Scizor is a power type, with a variety of powerful attacks from both close and far range with the ability to Mega Evolve into Mega Scizor for his Burst Attack.
Scizor will be added to Pokkén Tournament on October 20th. It’s currently unknown if Bandai Namco Entertainment will be bringing both Scizor and Darkrai to the Wii U in the near future.
