Different outlets were led to believe that there wasn’t going to be an extended edition for Suicide Squad when director David Ayer said that the theatrical release was his cut. Well, that’s not the case since Warner Bros. has announced that an extended edition is coming to Blu-ray with over 13 minutes of new footage. A new announcement trailer has been released, and it gives us a glimpse of a new scene of Harley Quinn before her transformation as a car stops in front of her. (Most likely it’s the Joker going after her.) Check it out below.
Suicide Squad will be coming to Ultra HD Blu-ray ($44.95), Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack ($44.95), Blu-ray Combo Pack ($35.99), DVD ($28.98) and Digital HD. The extended edition will be made available for the Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray 3D Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack, and Digital HD. It will be released on Digital HD on November 15th, and the Blu-ray and DVD versions will be released on December 13th.
The Blu-ray discs will feature Dolby Atmos.
The film stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Viola Davis as Amanda Waller.
Synopsis: It feels good to be bad… Assemble a team of the world’s most dangerous, incarcerated Super Villains, provide them with the most powerful arsenal at the government’s disposal, and send them off on a mission to defeat an enigmatic, insuperable entity. U.S. intelligence officer Amanda Waller has determined only a secretly convened group of disparate, despicable individuals with next to nothing to lose will do. However, once they realize they weren’t picked to succeed but chosen for their patent culpability when they inevitably fail, will the Suicide Squad resolve to die trying, or decide it’s every man for himself?
