Jeffrey Dean Morgan played Thomas Wayne for the flashback scenes in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and now he wants to see his character return to the big screen. In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Morgan stated that he thinks Zac Snyder might have cast him as Thomas Wayne for a reason, as Snyder once told him:
“Maybe when he cast me that was kind of the goal. Hopefully DC can figure this all out, and in a few years I can come back and do a Flashpoint Batman! I would love it. That would be great.”
Morgan then went on to talk about a conversation he had with Snyder back when they were filming Watchmen:
“I have not had any big discussions with him about Flashpoint, but I remember when we were in Australia doing Watchmen press, and I was having dinner with Zack or whatever. And he was like, ‘My dream is to do the Frank Miller Batman.’ And he goes, ‘You would be an awesome Batman.’ The darker version.”
Frank Miller’s version of Batman is a much darker and bitter version of the Bat that we know as Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. But there are a few things that make this possible. In the recent Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we saw elements of Flashpoint Paradox, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, and even the recently popular video game and comic book series, Injustice. Tying all of these together would be an easy way to maybe see the Thomas Wayne version of Batman, even as a cool Easter egg scene in the upcoming The Flash movie.
