This past weekend at New York Comic Con, attendees and the rest of the world were treated to the first official trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2. It looks like it will be just as good as the first film too. That’s good news as the original was such a sleeper hit, grossing over $78 million worldwide from a $20 million budget. Recently, Collider sat down with director Chad Stahelski to talk about the upcoming film, and he had some very interesting things to say.
The studio has asked us to put our heads together and see if we can come up with something. Winston’s [McShane] is a big part of the next one, so is Lance Reddick. We’ve got some ideas.
Now Stahelski isn’t referring to John Wick 2, but in fact a third iteration to the series. It’s surprising that they’d already be working on a third film when the second hasn’t even come out yet. Nonetheless, it’s good to see that there’s a lot of faith in Chapter 2.
In John Wick 2, we see the return of Keanu Reeves, Ian McShane, Lance Reddick and John Leguizamo, as well as newcomers Common, Ruby Rose, Laurence Fishburne, and Bridget Moynahan. The film hits theaters on February 10, 2017.
