“Baba Yetu” is an emotional and memorable theme song from Sid Meier’s Civilization IV. Composer Christopher Tin is back with a new theme song for the upcoming Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, and it’s looking to be just as good. The new song, “Sogno di Volare,” will have a celebratory feel. Instead of being in Swahili like “Baba Yetu,” the theme for VI will be Euro-centric.
Here’s an interesting bit of info. Tin mentioned that it took him an entire week to come up with the first catchy part of “Baba Yetu.”
Sid Meier’s Civilization VI will be available on October 21, 2016, for the PC.
Check out his interview below where he talks about his music for the video game franchise, never playing it safe, and his philosophy on great music.
Here’s a refresher if you haven’t heard of the greatness that is “Baba Yetu.”
