Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was set to release sometime next year. Koji Igarashi has posted a development update for the game revealing that the game will be delayed to sometime in early 2018 to ensure the game meets his quality standards. He is bringing in more developers to make sure this happens.
If you haven’t had a chance to play the demo, or even watch the gameplay videos that were shown at E3, the game looks amazing and is extremely fun to play. IGA and his team have really made the effort to keep backers involved with the game, often uploading new videos and illustrations for the game on a constant basis which makes the news really easy to accept.
“The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting, but after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies,” says IGA in his video. Sure delays suck, but this is only one delay that is giving his team time to really make the game that much better. The game is already looking amazing.
As a backer, I’m glad to see him coming out and making this announcement. Sure a year feels like too long, but I want to see Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night become a massive hit and a game I can enjoy as much as I have Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow, Circle of the Moon… you know all of the 2D Castlevania games IGA has worked on.
