This probably wasn’t meant to get out this soon, but a Guardians of the Galaxy star just spilled some very interesting Marvel news. He probably should’ve just stuck to the script and said, “I am Groot.”
Vin Diesel, the voice of Groot, appeared in a Facebook live video that aired on the actor’s personal page on Friday. Although the real purpose of the video was to show off an award he received from Facebook for having over 100 million fans, the actor confirmed that the Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in Avengers: Infinity War.
“Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting,” he said addressing the live audience, “You were told before everybody.”
Diesel spent most of video telling his audience how much he appreciates their support for his career including his decision to join the Marvel team. He added, “That whole concept started from you all saying, ‘When are you going to be in a Marvel movie?’ ”
No further details regarding the team’s role in the film were shared. We’ll just have to wait for Avengers: Infinity War when it’s released on May 4, 2018. Or maybe we’ll get more information when Guardians of the Galaxy hits theaters on May 5, 2017… Or Groot will let us know beforehand.
