Fans of classic Rare games have every reason to be excited today. A new trailer was released at Gamescom for Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee, the spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, and it is a dream come true.
Everything is there: joyful music, ridiculous animated characters, collectibles, you name it! Yooka-Laylee is shaping up to be a perfect Nintendo 64 platformer in the present day. The game is running at 1080p 60fps in the trailer (more than likely on PC), but we can’t wait to see what the N64 shaders will look like! No time to waste, watch the trailer below!
Playtonic Games is made up of key members from Rare, being funded by Kickstarter for Yooka-Laylee. The game is set to launch in Q1 2017 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U.
