MSI partners with USC Games for new esports facility

When most people think of USC collegiate sports, most will direct their attention to their football team but starting today, but changes today. USC games Esports Union (ESU) has announced an official partnership with MSI to provide USC ESU with PCs and monitors for the 2019/2020 collegiate gaming season’s League of Legends Varsity Team. 

With this new partnership, MSI will equip USC ESU’s training LAN center with its latest and greatest in gaming products on the market, which will include the Optix G24C, an award-winning curved monitor. MSI will also provide the players with industry and technical expertise that will help with USC ESU’s growth. 

“The ESU was founded to support competitive gameplay for gamers from across USC’s campus, with a focus on building teamwork, inclusion, and positivity into USC’s gaming community. The partnership with MSI makes it possible for our League of Legends club members and all varsity teams to train with state-of-the art technology and compete at the highest level,” said Arnold Ha, Director of USC Games’ Esports Union. 

McCarthy Quad at the USC campus will be home to USC Conquest’s esports event, which will be held on Thursday, November 21st, at 4 p.m. MSI will provide 37 gaming laptops for the event which will see USC games and UCLA play in a series of competitive games that will include League of Legends, Overwatch, Hearthstone, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

The USC ESU was founded in May 2018 as the official University of Southern California esports organization. It is a joint partnership with USC’s School of Cinematic Arts and Viterbi School of Engineering.
