6 Things We Want from the Obi-Wan TV Series

With the recent confirmation of the Obi-Wan Disney+ series, we’re taking a look at some things we want to see and learn about the Jedi Master from his very own show. Take a look at our picks in the gallery below!

It goes without saying, the best thing about the Star Wars prequel trilogy was Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi. Over a decade has passed since seeing him on the silver screen as the beloved character. Since Disney’s acquisition of the Star Wars franchise and the implementation of new films and other projects, fans have held out hope that McGregor would return to the beloved role.

In the past, Ewan McGregor has been shy about whether he would return to the force. This is not to say that he hadn’t expressed interest in returning—leaving everyone to hope. Hope turned into prayers, and now those prayers have been answered. A series has been announced that will bridge the gap between McGregor’s portrayal and Alec Guinness.’ As we ponder the nature of the Disney+ series (taking place between Episodes III and IV), all the things about McGregor’s character we wanted more of in 2005 come to mind; Obi-Wan Kenobi has always been somewhat of a mystery—his backstory and motives seeming relatively stagnant (if not open to interpretation). Lucas’ films are no stranger to plot holes and missed opportunities. The following slideshow outlines some things we may (and hopefully will) learn about “Ben” Kenobi from the announced series.

His personality
  • His plan after episode III
  • How he really feels about the whole 'Vader' thing
  • Why he chooses the name 'Ben'
  • More about his relationship with R2D2
