Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige has been teasing the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And we know that the studio is working on films like Shang-Chi, The Eternals, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3. With that said, we also know that some of the fallen from Avengers: Infinity War will be returning. And then there’s Sony, which is already promoting Spider-Man: Far From Home via trailers and posters. It’s like a big sign that says, “Hey, Spider-Man is okay.” It’s understandable since Sony does need to promote the film before it comes out. It’s continuing its promotion with a new photo and it’s also moving to an earlier release date.
Sony Pictures has announced that Spider-Man: Far From Home is changing its original release date of July 5th to July 2nd. That means fans have the chance to see it three days earlier, and that’s definitely taking advantage of the Fourth of July weekend. (It didn’t make sense for the film to be released a day after a big holiday.)
As for the new photo, we get a better look at the new suit, and we also see MJ looking pleased as she’s holding onto him. What’s even more interesting is that they are in New York, and it could be hinting at the two having an adventure swinging around the city. With the trailer heavily focusing on Peter Parker’s adventures in Europe, it’s nice to see that New York still has some presence in a Spidey flick.
Jon Watts, who directed Spider-Man: Homecoming, returns for the sequel. The film stars Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zendays as MJ, Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan, Marisa Tomei as May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned, and Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck/Mysterio.
Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 2, 2019.
