I am seriously not a fan of any of the The Fast and the Furious films. The franchise has been pretty much going downhill ever since it started moving out of the realm of street racing to espionage and international affairs. Also, you know, Vin Diesel. But ever since the introduction of Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in the series, I’ve become so invested in this pair, and am even more stoked for the spin-off movie. Now, we get another glimpse of the two in the latest trailer dropped today!
The latest trailer has dropped from Universal Pictures for their latest high-octane adventure, Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw! In similar hilarious fashion, this newest piece of visionary goodness is jam-packed with a lot of the comedic chemistry this duo has, and then some. In addition, we also get to see how each character values family, and what they’re willing to do to protect them. From prison visits with mom to performing the Maori war dance -the Haka- with family, this trailer gives us more of what continues to excite fans of the franchise!
Check out the trailer below:
Official synopsis:
Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.
But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Jason Statham, Idris Elba and Vanessa Kirby, crashes into theaters August 2, 2019!
