Watch Shazam! two weeks earlier thanks to Fandango

Shazam Zachary Levi

Shazam! is coming to theaters on April 5, and so far it has been receiving lots of praises from critics. Fandango and Warner Bros. Pictures are teaming up to offer fans a chance to see the film two weeks earlier thanks to advance screenings on March 23rd. Tickets are now available to purchase today.

To purchase tickets for Shazam’s March 23rd advance screening, you’ll need to be a member of Fandango VIP, which is a free rewards program. The advance screening will be available at around 1,200 select theaters across the nation.

“We’re thrilled to work with Warner Bros. on our early access screening program, helping eventize movies and generate buzz before opening weekend,” says Fandango President Paul Yanover. “‘Shazam!’ is a film that appeals to the whole family, and we’re delighted that Fandango VIP fans will be among the first to see the film two weeks before it officially hits theaters.”

Jeff Goldstein, President, Warner Bros. Pictures Domestic Distribution, states, “Fandango is a terrific partner and we’re excited to work with them to bring this film to their VIP members ahead of release. ‘Shazam!’ is not only a great superhero action movie, but a really funny one, full of heart and charm, and we look forward to Fandango audiences being among the very first to experience it on the big screen.”

This isn’t the first time Fandango teamed up with a studio. The company partnered with DreamWorks Animation to give fans the chance to watch How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World early.

Fandango VIP members will get 125 Points for each ticket purchased on Fandango. You’ll get a $5 reward if you earn 500 Points, and it can be used for movie tickets or digital movies and rentals on FandangoNOW. You can even combine benefits from your other theater rewards cards by linking the Fandango VIP membership with AMC Stubs, Cinemark Connections, Regal Crown Club, and more.

Of course, if you would rather wait until the regular release date, you can do that too with those tickets also going on sale today.

Synopsis: In Billy Batson’s (Asher Angel) case, by shouting out one word—SHAZAM!—this streetwise 14-year-old foster kid can turn into the adult Super Hero Shazam (Zachary Levi), courtesy of an ancient wizard (Djimon Hounsou). Still a kid at heart—inside a ripped, godlike body—Shazam revels in this adult version of himself by doing what any teen would do with superpowers: have fun with them! Can he fly? Does he have X-ray vision? Can he shoot lightning out of his hands? Can he skip his social studies test? Shazam sets out to test the limits of his abilities with the joyful recklessness of a child. But he’ll need to master these powers quickly in order to fight the deadly forces of evil controlled by Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong).

The film is directed by David F. Sandberg, who is known for directing horror films like Anabelle: Creation and Lights Out. Henry Gayden worked on the screenplay from a story by Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke and based on the DC character created by Bill Parker and C.C. Beck. Joining Zachary Levi are Mark Strong, Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, and Djimon Hounsou, Faithe Herman, Grace Fulton, Ian Chen, Jovan Armand, Marta Milans, and Cooper Andrews.

Shazam! flies into theaters on April 5, 2019.
