Activision and Treyarch haven’t released a lot of information about Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, Blackout, but gamers will soon get to check it out when the Private Beta starts in September. If that’s too long of a wait to get into the action, the Multiplayer Beta will be coming out in August. That’s right, there will be two different Betas coming out.
The Multiplayer Beta will launch on August 3rd for the PlayStation 4, with the Xbox One and PC getting some love soon after. Once gamers get a fill of that, they can jump in September for the Blackout battle royale mode.
Check out the Multiplayer Beta schedule below:
- PlayStation 4 (Starts: August 3 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 6 at 10am/PT)
- PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (Starts: August 10 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 13 at 10am/PT)
- PC Beta Early Access (Starts: August 10 at 10am/PT) *PC exclusively on Battle.Net
- PC Open Beta (Starts: August 11 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 13 at 10am/PT)
The Multiplayer Beta will feature six maps, with two being made public for the first time. In addition to the maps, there will be a new Specialist made available, and they’ll be joined by Specialists Nomad and Prophet complete with new gameplay mechanics.
Modes included in the Beta are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and the new objective-based game mode, Control. In the new mode, teams will switch roles as attackers and defenders to take control of two static objectives with a limited number of lives. The first team to win the first of three matches wins.
As for the Private Blackout Beta, more information will be released soon. To get access to the Private Multiplayer and Blackout Beta, you’ll need to pre-order the game.
With all of the different types of online modes including Zombie mode, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won’t be having a story mode. The full game will out on October 12th for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
